Guildrun Controls
Guildrun plays primarily with mouse clicks for menu navigation, shop purchases, and relic selection, with keyboard shortcuts for speed during repeated runs. Combat itself is automated once battles begin — your inputs matter during preparation phases between hex arena nodes. This reference covers every binding you need from first launch through endless mode pushes.

Mouse Controls
Left-click selects heroes, items, relics, and menu options. Click a hero portrait to inspect stats, specializations, and equipped gear. Click shop items to purchase, relic cards to draft, and map nodes to choose your next encounter. Drag-and-drop or click-to-assign may apply when moving items between heroes depending on the current UI panel — hover tooltips confirm the active mode.
Right-click typically cancels a selection or closes a popup panel without confirming. Scroll wheel zooms the hex arena camera during combat replays and map overview screens. Middle-click drag pans the camera on battlefields with larger formations. Precision clicking matters less than in action games because combat resolves automatically — focus on efficient menu navigation instead.
Keyboard Shortcuts
Standard PC shortcuts apply throughout the demo. Escape opens the pause menu with options to resume, adjust settings, or exit to desktop. Spacebar advances dialogue and confirms prompts on tutorial screens. Tab cycles focus between heroes on the roster panel for quick inspection without mouse travel.
Number keys one through six may select heroes directly when the roster panel is active — useful for equipping items quickly between shops. Enter confirms relic drafts and shop purchases when a selection is highlighted. Backspace or Delete removes an item from a hero slot when the inventory panel is focused. Exact bindings appear in the in-game settings menu under Controls.
- Escape: pause menu and settings access.
- Space: advance tutorial text and confirm dialogs.
- Tab: cycle hero selection on roster panel.
- 1–6: quick-select heroes when roster is focused.
- Enter: confirm relic or shop selection.
- Mouse wheel: zoom camera on map and combat replay.
Combat and Map Navigation
You do not control heroes during autobattler combat — positioning and ability execution are automatic on hex tiles. Your role is pre-fight preparation: assign items, upgrade specializations, and arrange recruitment order before clicking the engage button. After combat resolves, click Continue to proceed to rewards or the map.
On the route map, click available nodes to choose your path. Some routes offer combat, shops, relic shrines, or rest nodes. Planning several nodes ahead prevents dead-end paths that lack shops before boss encounters. The how to play guide explains node types in detail.
Shop and Draft Controls
In shops, click items to preview stats then click Buy or double-click for instant purchase depending on UI mode. Reroll buttons refresh stock at a gold cost shown on hover. Right-click or Escape closes the shop when finished. Relic drafts present three cards — click one to claim it; there is no reroll unless a relic or modifier grants one.
Speed runners use keyboard confirm on drafts to minimize mouse travel. New players should read each relic tooltip fully before confirming — misclicks are permanent for the run. See the relics guide for evaluation frameworks before you start clicking quickly.
Save, Settings, and Accessibility
The pause menu includes Save Run for mid-run persistence — see the dedicated save and resume page. Settings cover audio levels, display mode, resolution, VSync, particle quality, and control sensitivity for camera zoom. Accessibility options may include UI scale adjustments; check the settings panel after each patch for new toggles.
Steam overlay (Shift+Tab) accesses community, screenshots, and guides without closing the game. Rebind options, if available in your demo version, live under Settings → Controls. Report missing rebind support to Leyline via Steam discussions if you need custom layouts for accessibility hardware.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I control heroes manually during combat?
No. Guildrun is an autobattler — combat plays out automatically after you press engage. Your inputs apply during preparation, shopping, and map navigation phases only.
How do I save my run?
Open the pause menu with Escape and select Save Run. Full details are on the save and resume page, including Steam Cloud behavior.
Are controller or gamepad inputs supported?
The demo primarily targets keyboard and mouse. Controller support is not documented at the July 2026 demo launch — check settings after updates or the full release in late 2026.
Can I rebind keys?
Check Settings → Controls in your demo build. Rebind availability may expand across demo patches. Default bindings follow standard PC strategy game conventions.
What happens if I misclick a relic?
Relic picks are final for the current run unless a rare modifier grants a reroll. Read tooltips carefully before confirming with Enter or click.
